වේදනාව රළ නංවා - මියෙනා බව පසක් කරන

Autumnal Equinox - සරත් විෂුවය

In this year for Canada, (the Northern Hemisphere) the autumnal equinox falls today, September 22, as the Sun crosses the celestial equator going south. According to the astronomical definition of the seasons, the autumnal equinox also marks the beginning of Autumn, which lasts until the Winter Solstice (December 21 in the Northern Hemisphere).

Autumn is the season of the year between summer and winter during which temperatures gradually decrease. It is often called "Fall Season" in Canada and the United States because leaves fall from the trees at that time. Autumn is usually defined in the Northern Hemisphere as the period between the autumnal equinox (day and night equal in length), September 22, and the winter solstice (year’s shortest day), December 21. The autumn temperature transition between summer heat and winter cold occurs in Canada as it closer to the North Pole.

අද සැප්තැම්බර් 22 දින සිට කැනඩාව වගේම ලෝකයේ උතුරු අර්ධද්වීපයේ රටවල්වලට සරත් සමය (Autumn) ඇරඹෙනව. Autumnal Equinox (සරත් විෂුවය) කියන්නේ උතුරේ සිට දකුණු දෙසට ගමන් කරන හිරු හරියටම සමකයට උඩින් පිහිටන දිනයට. එදින දිවා කාලයේ හෝරා ගණනත් රාත්‍රී කාලයේ හෝරා ගණනත් සමානයි. අද සැප්තැම්බර් 22 දින සිට දෙසැම්බර් 21 දක්වා කාලය අපිට සරත් සමය (Autumn Season). අද දිවා කාලය හා රාත්‍රී කාලය සමාන වුණත් දවසින් දවස දිවා කාලය කෙටි වෙනවා. කැනඩාව හා ඇමරිකාව සරත් සමය (Autumn Season) හඳුන්වන්නේ  "Fall Season" කියලා. ඒ ගස්වල කොළ වැටෙන කාලය හින්දා.

අපි පසු කළේ ගිම්හාන කාලය. (Summer Season).  ගිම්හාන කාලයේ දිවා කාලය දිගුයි. උදාහරණයකට ජූනි මාසයේ දිවා කාලය පැය පහළොවක්. අපි වෙසෙන ඔටාවා නුවරට. කැනඩාවේ Inuvik වගේ සමහර නගරවලට ගිම්හාන කාලයේ රාත්‍රියක් ඇත්තෙම නෑ. ඉර අහස වටේ කැරකෙමින් තියෙනවා බැස යන්නේ නෑ. හැබැයි ශිත කාලයට ඕකේ අනික් පැත්ත. මාස දෙකක් ඉර පායන්නෙම නෑ. දවල්ට යාන්තම් එලිය වැටෙනවා විතරයි. ඉර දකිනට නෑ. අපි ඉන්න ඔටාවා නුවරට එහෙම ප්‍රශ්නයක් නෑ. ශිත කාලයටත් දීප්තිමත්ව ඉර පායනවා. හැබැයි රාත්‍රී කාලය පැය පහළොවක් විතර දිගයි.

මේ ඡායා රූපය ගත්තේ පසුගිය ඉරිදා. රාත්‍රී සීතලට ඝනීභවනය වන ගඟේ වාෂ්පීකරණය වන ජල වාෂ්ප පායන හිරුගේ රශ්මියෙන් කරන විචිත්‍ර චිත්‍රණය බලන්න.

turn into a mellow apricot

of elms and firs

in the calm cool eventide

Birds in the nests

sing the last song of the day

before falling into sleep

A painted shadow

fading reflections

a lonely Canoe

sailing to an unknown destiny

disappears

- අළු ගෝමරී -

එදා ජන සමාජයේ ගැමියෝ අද මෙන් උගත්තු නොවූහ. එහෙත් ඔවුහු බොහෝ ඇසූ පිරූ ඇත්තෝ වූහ. අනේකවිධ දුෂ්කරතා හා දුක් ගැහැට හමුවේ වුව කම්පා නොවූ ගැමියෝ එම සංවේදනාවෝ තනිවම විඳ දරාගත්හ. "අළු ගෝමරී" නම් මේ නිර්මාණය ඈත වන්නියේ සිය ජීවිකාව උදෙසා කර්කශ මහ පොළොව හා ගැටෙන අහිංසක ගොවියෙකුගේ දිවි පෙවෙතේ එක් දිනෙක එක් සිදුවීමකි.

"අළු ගෝමරී" නම් නිර්මාණය මා ලියූවේ මීට වසර ගණනාවකට පෙරදීය. එය 2016 වසරේ අගෝස්තු මස 30 වැනි දින "මව් බිම" පුවත්පතේද, එම වසරේම සැප්තැම්බර් මස 18 වෙනි දින "ඉරුදින" පුවත්පතේද පළවිය. ඉන්පසුව කැනඩාවේ ඔටාවා නුවර පේරාදෙණිය විශ්ව විද්‍යාලයීය ආදී විද්‍යාර්ථයින්ගේ සංසදය විසින් පළ කරණු ලබන "හන්තාන පවුර" සඟරාවේ 2019 ජූලි කලාපයේ එය පළවිය. ඊට සුදුසු පසුබිම් සිතුවමක් ඇඳ දුන්නේ අප පේරාදෙණිය සරසවියේම පශු වෛද්‍ය පිඨයේ ශිල්ප කළ නිරෝෂන් තන්ත්‍රිගේ සොයුරා විසිණි. ඔහු අද කැනඩාවේ විද්‍යාඥයෙකි. පර්යේෂකයෙකි. නිර්මාණය රසවිඳ කරුණාකර ඔබේ අදහස් දක්වන්න.

2021 Summer Solstice

In 2021, the Summer solstice occured on Sunday, June 20, marking the start of summer in the Northern Hemisphere. The Solstice is an astronomical event that happens twice, once in summer and once in winter, each year when the Sun reaches its highest position in the sky as seen from the North or South Pole. During Solstices the tilt of the axis of the Earth (with respect to the Sun) is the maximum at 23° 26'.

The summer solstice occurs during summer. This is the June solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the December solstice in the Southern Hemisphere

The Summer Solstice occurred on 2oth June this year in Canada. It was the longest day of the year (15 hrs & 40 Mins Day Time).

Spring Shadows & Weeping Willows

I saw you;

when I passed the dream valley

nipping me in a dream

framed in the riparian

distilled rivulet.

The dream was tuneful, as a song

lovely rhythmic pattern

iambic pentameter

It had three quatrains

followed by a couplet.

Beautiful as blooming blossoms.

I forgot to exhale, for a while

weeping willows; started to cry

and peeped into the mirrored brook

tears start to fall

Our journey; centuries long journey

nipping me in a dream

framed in the riparian
